Is Resistance Futile? Four Websites to Give You Hope

When I stop to consider how much pornography has infected our society, it’s encouraging to know there are many out there fighting against its influence. I'd like to highlight four websites (out of many others) that will help you protect and educate your family. Remember, knowledge is power!

Enough is Enough. This non-partisan, non-profit organization is dedicated to “Making the Internet Safer for Children and Families.” Their website has loads of excellent information including video clips from experts (scroll down to Pornography 101 Videos). Under the Dangers tab, check out their Pornography 101 pages. They also have an Internet Safety 101 course that can be purchased.

Protect Kids. EIE also has a sister site called Protect Kids. This site has the look and feel of a kid-friendly site, but I believe it’s more appropriate for parents. However, it’s a great source of information, including How Pornography Harms Children, The Science behind Pornography Addiction, Teen Testimonials on Internet Porn and Recovery, and lots more.

Porn Harms is an excellent website developed by Morality in Media, Inc. (MIM directs the War on Illegal Pornography Coalition, which works with Congress to pressure the U.S. Department of Justice to enforce existing federal obscenity laws.) Porn Harms has a variety of projects and pages with resources. Make sure to check out their Resources for Parents.

Porn Harms: Research is a website dedicated to providing access to the latest peer-reviewed research on the negative effects of pornography. One of the lies told about pornography is that it’s harmless fun, but scientific studies prove otherwise.

Porn-Proofing Today’s Young Kids

"I really like the no-shame approach the author takes. It's so much more than just 'don't watch or look at porn.' It gave my children a real understanding about the brain and its natural response to pornography, how it can affect you if you look at it, and how to be prepared when you do come across it (since, let's face it... it's gonna happen at some point)." -Amazon Review by D.O.
